Medellín Metro

The main feature of this project was the construction of two lines with a total length of 32 km and 25 stations, such that 40% of the developed area or the area suitable for development to be located at a distance of less than one kilometre from any of the system's stations.

Line A runs through the city, from Niquia to Itagüi, with a distance of 23.22 km, of which 16.72 km are at grade and 6.50 km are built as a viaduct. The project was completed in March 1997.
