Between the city of Guadalajara and the border with Soria Province (a total length of 77.5 km), the A-2 is one of the main routes within the Spanish road network that connects the cities of Madrid and Barcelona.

The 118-million project, delivered under a public private partnership scheme, includes the design and financing of the rehabilitation and larger structures along the existing 77.5 km section.
