ACCIONA will design and build a freshwater supply pipeline for the municipality of Malvik as part of the E6 Ranheim - Værnes project

10/25/2021
  • The municipality has been requesting this intervention for years, which will bring important benefits to the community.

ACCIONA has reached an agreement with Nye Veier - its client in the E6 Ranheim - Værnes project - to extend the scope of the contract, including the design and construction of a new freshwater supply pipeline for the residents of the municipality of Malvik, one of the of the towns through which this new road will run, currently under construction.

This action, proposed at the beginning of the contract as an option, will bring a great benefit to the Malvik community. The execution of this pipeline has been delayed for years for different reasons, but finally Nye Veier and the Municipality of Mavik have reached an agreement with ACCIONA to carry out the infrastructure.

"Malvik municipality is very pleased that Nye Veier and ACCIONA contribute to such an important and socially beneficial project that ensures a stable water supply to the inhabitants of Malvik" have declared Jens Berget, Malvik´s acting councilor.

This new pipeline will be designed and built simultaneously with the rest of the actions that are being carried out for the construction of the E6 Ranheim - Værnes road, which will mean a significant saving in time and costs. This is because, among other things, the machinery and labor required to run the pipeline are already on the job site.

In addition, the fact that this new scope is integrated into the E6 Ranheim - Værnes project, prevents communities, for example, that the noise generated by the works does not extend over time or, also, that there is due traffic to the works for two different time periods. At an environmental level, in addition, this way of proceeding guarantees a lower impact on nature, avoiding having to act on the land twice.
